There is SO much you need to know to be successful online. And if you want to develop an online business that actually brings in money, you probably don't want to take years and years to make it happen. That's where a coach comes in.
Of course, there are lots and lots of coaches who are willing to help you build an online business. But will they truly? Of course, they may mean to and they may try but, just as in any field, some people are really good at what they do and some aren't.
There is a saying that "he who can't, teaches." Sometimes that's true. I know I've met instructors in various fields who were teaching because they were unable to develop a successful practice. On the other hand, there are people who have become reasonably--or fabulously--successful in their chosen field and decide to share their knowledge AND who can share it very well. It makes a lot of sense to choose your coach based on the success they have had.
But there's more than just the financial success of a potential coach to consider.
Some people are excellent at teaching. Some aren't. Some folks truly know their "stuff" but the problem is, they don't know how to teach. This seems to me to be especially true in the computer technology fields.
Internet technology is not my strong point. I need someone to explain - sometimes over and over - in a way that I can understand. There are people who know exactly how to DO things but don't have a clear way of sharing that information.
I remember (not fondly) taking classes in Internet technology where the instructor zipped along while I sat there in the dust, lost as could be. I remember when I first heard the term "pay per click." For the entire morning, I thought we were talking about "paper clips" and I couldn't figure out the tie-in.So, I have discovered over the past THREE YEARS that there are many facets of a truly good Internet business coach.
1. He or she needs to have a system that I can go back to over and over for review.
2. She needs to explain things in the most simple terms that even I can understand.
3. She needs to have a successful career as an Internet marketer that I can copy.
